Willie, the First, did it. Jock, the Greatest, did it. Now Gordon has led the Bhoys to three straight league titles (and two straight trips to the Champions League round of 16).
...when they score their fifth goal of the match, and have shut out the other side thus far, the loudspeakers (which normally play the chorus of "Chelsea Dagger" for goals) play the theme from "Hawaii Five-O." (SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE 5-0 OMG SCOTTISH HILARITY WITH OLD AMERICAN TV.) Which may seem like piling on, but let's face it: soccer being what it is, if you ever find yourself down 5 goals to nil, you basically deserve whatever abuse is heaped upon you.
Celtic still has the fish problem: they are a shark amongst the chum in Scotland, but a minnow amongst barracuda in Europe. I still think the only solution is a Cardiff City exemption to move them into the English league system (and thus inevitably into the Premiership, and the Premiership TV money) but that doesn't look like it's on the cards. Rangers maybe, you expect that of the Hun, but CELTIC? In ENGLAND? Not bloody likely. Maybe in 50 years.
...and all I can say is this:
Beckham wishes he could bend it like Nakamura.
Seriously. If there's a more electrifying free-kick in world football than #25 lining up, I want to see it.
Also, I'm going with a new layout - one that a) reflects my current addiction and b) shows up better on the iPhone ;]
When did I turn into such a frickin' Anglophile? Virgin Radio on at work, looking for a Premiership team to back, and now I've been lured into "Life on Mars," the BBC America show about a detective in Manchester who gets hit by a car and finds himself 33 years in the past, unsure whether he's actually gone back in time or whether everything is some sort of mad coma dream. It's a great show with at least one REALLY compelling character, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it - something to pass the time until we get games on the weekend.
