Tough call.  Probably the bit before I turned 6, back when I didn't know how weird I was.

Other than that, there's really nothing I'd want to have back to do over until senior year of high school, which I hardly think can be considered "childhood".

Are you going to be amongst the first people to buy the iPhone 3G? If so, when do you plan on picking yours up and which one will you be purchasing?


No need.  Unless you have a compelling need for 3G coverage or GPS specifically, the existing iPhone with the firmware upgrade should do you just fine.  Does for me - but then, I do live in Silicon Valley, home of pervasive free Wi-Fi, which is far faster than 3G most of the time.  And since I rarely leave, what do I need the GPS for?

But if you don't have one, now's the time to buy, certainly.

Actually, yeah, I do have a bad habit of buying whatever I think I need to, whenever I feel like it.  Normally I have at least some cursory justification, or keep it low enough that it's not a huge amount of money, or do something like "at least I'm not blowing it on cigars or booze anymore" - but I fritter away more cash than I really should on just nothing, especially when I should be saving because stuff keeps going up and up and up (esp. gas).
