I would be remiss not to mention...
...that Dr Martens are bringing out a line of "Vintage" boots made in England. Read that again. For the first time in five or six years, they will actually build Docs in England's green and pleasant land.
I almost wish I hadn't popped for the Solovairs now. On the other hand, maybe a pair of 8i cherry 1460s is just what I need for Christmas. UK 11, if anyone feels like making my year.
Seriously, it's like Docs that aren't made in the UK aren't really Docs. I've as much as stopped wearing all my Docs that aren't, which leaves me with 3 pair when you get right down to it. None of them 1460s, which is why I had to get the Solovairs. Plus they were only £55. I'm sure the Vintage line will be double that.
Totally worth it, if you ask me, but I am positive my old man will rise from the grave and smack the taste out of my mouth for spending over $200 on a pair of shoes.
